StereoPhoto Maker vs AnaBuilder: Windows Specialist vs Java All-Rounder
AnaBuilder is a Java-based stereo photo builder with a loyal following, known for anaglyph creation and for running anywhere Java runs. StereoPhoto Maker is a Windows freeware specialist. The comparison turns on platform and depth of tooling.
| Aspect | StereoPhoto Maker | The other tool |
|---|---|---|
| Platform | Windows (official Wine bundle for Mac) | Java application — runs on Windows, macOS and Linux where Java is installed |
| Core job | Full stereo editing: alignment, window, formats, batch | Building stereo images and anaglyphs from pairs |
| Alignment tooling | Auto alignment + StereoAutoAlign batch companion | Manual alignment-oriented workflow |
| Containers | MPO/JPS/PNS native; device imports (Lume Pad, Nubia, RED) since v6.33 | Classic pair formats |

Choose SPM if…
You are on Windows and want the deeper bench: automatic alignment, folder-scale batch conversion, MPO round-tripping and current device formats.
Choose AnaBuilder if…
You need a stereo builder on macOS or Linux without Wine/VM detours, and your work is pair-building and anaglyphs rather than batch production. Cross-platform Java is a real advantage SPM does not answer.
