Multi Conversion: Batch Processing in StereoPhoto Maker

Multi Conversion is StereoPhoto Maker’s batch engine: point it at a folder of stereo pairs and it converts them all — format, layout, alignment options — in one run. It is the feature that turns SPM from an editor into a production tool, and it has had no file-count limit since v5.50 (the old 2,500-file cap was removed).

A typical batch run

  1. Choose File > Multi Conversion.
  2. Set the input: the folder and file type (for example, MPO files from a camera card).
  3. Set the output: format and layout (for example, side-by-side JPEG), destination folder, and naming.
  4. Enable the processing options you need — alignment among them — and start the run.
  5. Spot-check the first and last outputs before trusting the batch.

The settings that matter

  • Alignment in batch — convenient, but verify a sample: one bad pair aligned “successfully” can hide in a thousand good ones.
  • EXIF — batch output can lose EXIF data. The StereoAutoAlign + ExifTool route preserves it; see the EXIF guide.
  • Output quality — save batch JPEGs at the quality you would choose for a master, not a preview, if the outputs are keepers.

When the dialog itself is the problem

On small or heavily scaled displays the Multi Conversion window can run off-screen. That specific failure, and its workarounds, are covered in Multi Conversion dialog cut off.

Batch first, artistry second: run the bulk conversion, then hand-finish the handful of hero images individually.
