Lume Pad, Nubia Pad 3D & RED Hydrogen One: SPM Imports Their Pairs (v6.33+)

Glasses-free 3D tablets keep stereo photography alive as a display medium: Leia’s Lume Pad line, the Nubia Pad 3D, and before them the RED Hydrogen One phone. Since v6.33, StereoPhoto Maker imports the separated left/right images these devices produce — treating them the way it treats MPO files — and it can do so in batch.

What v6.33 added, exactly

The author’s changelog for v6.33: like MPO, stereo images from the Lume Pad 1 / Lume Pad 2, Nubia Pad 3D and RED Hydrogen One can be imported as separated left and right images, and batch conversion is supported. In practice that means your tablet’s stereo captures stop being trapped in a device-specific layout: SPM reads the pair, and from there every SPM tool applies — alignment, window adjustment, and export to side-by-side, MPO, anaglyph or interlaced.

A practical round trip

  1. Copy the device’s stereo files to your PC and open them in SPM (v6.33+; current is v6.41 — download page).
  2. Run auto alignment: computational-photography devices sometimes ship pairs with software-applied geometry that benefits from a check.
  3. Save a side-by-side master; export device copies as needed with Multi Conversion.

Why bother, if the tablet shows them already?

  • Alignment and window control the device apps do not offer.
  • One master that also serves headsets (Quest), print (stereo cards) and the archive (backups).
  • Insurance against the device line ending — your pairs outlive the hardware when they are standard files.

The current glasses-free tablet in this family is the Lume Pad 2; its pairs import into SPM like the other devices here.
