Step-by-step StereoPhoto Maker tutorials: first stereo photo, auto alignment, anaglyphs, MPO conversion, VR180, batch work and more.
Make a Wiggle GIF from a Stereo Pair in StereoPhoto Maker A wiggle GIF alternates the left and right views of a stereo pair a few times a second. With no glasses and no special screen, the rapid alternation gives a genuine impression of depth — it is the most shareable stereo format on the…
Multi Conversion: Batch Processing in StereoPhoto Maker Multi Conversion is StereoPhoto Maker’s batch engine: point it at a folder of stereo pairs and it converts them all — format, layout, alignment options — in one run. It is the feature that turns SPM from an editor into a production tool, and it has had no…
Stereo Cards for Printing with SPM’s Stereo Card Maker A stereo card — two prints mounted side by side on a card, viewed through a stereoscope — is the format that made 3D photography a mass medium in the 19th century, and it is still the most satisfying way to share a pair. StereoPhoto Maker…
iPhone Spatial Photos (HEIC) in StereoPhoto Maker Recent iPhones shoot “spatial photos” — stereo pairs stored in HEIC. StereoPhoto Maker can open them: since v6.40 the program ships with a DLL, spphotolib, that lets it read Apple’s spatial photos (HEIC), and v6.41 extended what it can pull from them. Here is the exact setup and…
Canon VR180 Conversion in StereoPhoto Maker (Dual Fisheye ⇄ VR180) Canon’s RF 5.2mm f/2.8L Dual Fisheye lens records VR180 as two circular fisheye images side by side in one frame. To view or edit that material as immersive VR180, it must be converted to the equirectangular projection headsets expect — and sometimes converted back. StereoPhoto…
Fujifilm FinePix REAL 3D W3 Workflow in StereoPhoto Maker The Fujifilm FinePix REAL 3D W3 remains the easiest way to shoot real stereo: two lenses, one shutter, and an MPO file for every shot. StereoPhoto Maker was practically built around this camera’s output. This workflow takes a W3 card from import to finished, viewable images….
Convert MPO to Side-by-Side in StereoPhoto Maker MPO (Multi Picture Object) is the container stereo cameras write: one file holding the left and right JPEGs. Fujifilm’s W3 and the Nintendo 3DS made it the most common stereo format in the wild. Many displays and editors, however, want a plain side-by-side (SBS) image. StereoPhoto Maker converts…
Make an Anaglyph in StereoPhoto Maker (Red-Cyan & More) An anaglyph squeezes a stereo pair into one image: the left view goes into the red channel, the right view into cyan, and a pair of red-cyan glasses separates them again for your eyes. It is the cheapest 3D viewing method there is, and StereoPhoto Maker…
Auto Alignment in StereoPhoto Maker (and StereoAutoAlign) No hand-held stereo pair comes out of the camera aligned. The two shots always differ a little in height, rotation, size and perspective, and those small errors are exactly what makes a stereo image tiring to look at. StereoPhoto Maker’s auto alignment measures and corrects them. This guide…
